It’s still early in development so does have some bugs and rough edges, but it shows a lot of promise.

System Shock was a groundbreaking experience when it was first released back in 1994, and although the core gameplay does (understandably) feel a bit dated now, Nightdive Studios have done a good job of making it feel like a modern experience. You step into the shoes of a renowned hacker who awakens from a coma to find that the space station you’re on is now ruled by an AI called SHODAN, with an army of mindless cyborgs, robots and terribly mutated beings at its disposal. They’ve even been working alongside members of the original team (including the original voice actor of SHODAN). System Shock Remastered is a reboot and reimagining of LookingGlass Technologies’ classic 26 year old cyberpunk horror action adventure.Ĭurrently in development by Nightdrive Studios, System Shock Remastered aims to bring the emergent gameplay of the original System Shock to modern PCs, with an overhauled interface and updated audio and visuals.
